DHAKA: The depression over East-Central Bay and adjoining area moved slightly northwards over the same area and was centred at 6am on Friday about 565 kms south of Chittagong port, 470kms south of Cox’s Bazar port, 610 kms south south-east of Mongla port and 550 kms south south- east of Pyra port, reports bss.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-north- westerly direction, said a special weather bulletin of the metrology department here today.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 44 kms of the depression centre is about 40 kph rising to 50 kph in gusts or squalls, it said adding that sea will remain moderate near the system centre.
Under the influence of depression deep convection is taking place over North Bay. Squally weather may affect North Bay,adjoining coastal area and the maritime ports of Bangladesh, said the weather bulletin.
